ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION IN THE UNDER GRADUATE (UG) PROGRAMMES-B.A/B.COM 1st year
*A CANDIDATE WHO HAS PASSED 10+2 EXAMINATION IN FOUR COMPULSORY SUBJECTS (Including English) FROM UNIVERSITY/BOARD RECOGNISED BY LAW CAN SEEK ADMISSION. *STUDENTS WHO ARE PLACED UNDER COMPARTMENT IN ANY EXAMINATION OF ANOTHER BOARD/UNIVERSITY SHALL NOT APPLY EVEN FOR PROVISIONAL ADMISSION TO THE NEXT HIGHER CLASS IN THE COLLEGE.
Note: Rules regarding eligibility conditions for admission to B.A/B.Com 1st year are subject to change as per the directions of H.P. Govt. /H.P.U. Shimla. For B.A./B.Com. 1st year Age Limit: An Applicant must not be more than 23 years (25 years for girls) of age as on 1st July of the year 2023 i.e. must not have born earlier to 01-07-2000 (01-07-1998 for girls). Only the Vice-Chancellor shall have the power of granting age relaxation up to a maximum of 6 months. For SC/ST students however the age limit will be raised by 3 years. Minimum pass percentage for admission in different faculty is given as: (i) B.A 1st (Bachelor of Arts)
A student seeking admission to B.A 1st should have 35% marks in any stream in 10+2. (ii) B.Com 1st (Bachelor of Commerce)
a) 40% for those who have passed examination under Commerce group at +2 level
b) 45% for others but the candidate must have passed Mathematics/ Economics as compulsory subject with 45% marks at his /her +2 level.
c) There is relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST students for admission to Commerce faculty.
